George W. Morosani ’64 ’65MBA ’91P

George W. MorosaniBusinessman George W. Morosani ’64 ’65MBA ’91P believes that those who both desire and deserve a college education should have access to higher education. This philosophy motivates George to give back to Rollins through both the George W. and Judy C. Morosani Endowed MBA Scholarship Fund and a future estate gift.

After his self-described “incarceration” with 125 boys at a boarding school, George chose to attend Rollins College over Boston University. George was accustomed to attending small schools, and at Rollins he could be a medium frog in a small pond versus being a little frog in a big pond. The opportunity to attend small, discussion-based classes combined with the allure of sun shining off Lake Virginia created an environment where George felt he could live, study and flourish.

George’s father impressed upon him the value of an education to foster personal growth and to broaden his life experience. George does not believe that a four-year college degree will benefit all young people, but rather enrolling in a community college or a trade school are options worthy of consideration. But for those who have the aptitude but not the means, George hopes his scholarship can both aid these students and inspire other alumni to also help the next generation.

George, a successful Asheville businessman, credits Rollins and the Crummer Graduate School of Business for honing his analytical ability. Rollins helped George to mature and to assume responsibility. The power of an undergraduate liberal arts education augmented by his graduate business degree helped propel George to success. George went on to work at Boeing Aircraft in the space industry at Cape Canaveral, Florida before beginning his entrepreneurial career and life in Asheville, North Carolina.

George resides in Asheville with Judy, his wife of 43 years. Their two daughters are Elizabeth Morosani and Katherine Morosani ’91. George is the owner of George W. Morosani & Associates, a commercial real estate and development firm.
